650 - 800 word pitches

have scenes in mind
or at least the possibility of scenes

keep pitches tight with simple narrative

what's the conceptual scoop? What's the thinky bit? You want to have some element of depth, some other layer to get to.

is it a WIRED story? what makes it a wired story? Or whatever your publisher is

how do you fake a scene? set up a fake scene. start close to a detail and pull out, why is what you're watching important. You're dollying past it.

You may have to go back and say, hey, what happened that day? Who said that? how did you feel? That must have been really weird?
