===Outline===

So, intro, then a bit about what editing software is for -- making your images better sure, but also organizing them, sorting them and helping you find the images you want when you want them.

Then a look at free editors -- iPhoto, Picasa and what ships on your phone and Andriod (i.e. photoshop mobile.). Then do a few grafs on what you get for a bit of money, photoshop elements, perhaps another. Then lightroom, photoshop.

Then we move to video, talk about formats for a second, look again at the free options, this time iMovie and Windows Movie maker. Talk about how there is no good tool for organizing video. Perhaps the future of video editing is editing on your phone

Eventually the software that ships on your phone might be enough, but today limited processing power and a limited export optuions make editing full fledged video on your phpone an excercise in frustration best left to professionals who can prove the exception to the rule that editing movies on your phone is next to impossible.
